Saildrone today announced a strategic partnership with Palantir Technologies poised to transform maritime intelligence. This partnership will enable rapid scaling of autonomous systems to deliver advanced maritime AI solutions where traditional naval assets simply aren't available. Amid ever-growing global threats, and with the drastically limited shipbuilding capacity, this partnership is a game changer, in the world of maritime security operations.
Saildrone operates the biggest fleet of operationally deployed USVs in the world, providing key maritime domain awareness to the US Navy, Department of Homeland Security, and international allies. These autonomous vessels use advanced and proprietary edge-computing AI/ML algorithms to surveil activities occurring above and below the sea surface, given existing threats, including narcotics trafficking, illegal fishing operations, and opposing submarines.
As the demand for Saildrone services surges, it will now scale through integration with Palantir's sophisticated AI cloud infrastructure across its entire operational stretch—from Warp Speed to fast-track manufacturing, supply chain, and fleet operations to AI-backed tasking of in-field autonomous assets.
“As global threats continue to evolve, we’re seeing rapidly increasing demand for our maritime security solutions,” said Richard Jenkins, founder and CEO at Saildrone.
“Leveraging Palantir’s sophisticated manufacturing and AI tools will allow us to streamline manufacturing and radically enhance fleet capabilities. While others make promises about tomorrow's technology, we face complex global threats today. This partnership with Palantir ensures we deliver solutions today that outpace tomorrow’s threats.”
